The flight left Bien Hoa at 7:15 a.m. and less that 20 minutes later was attacking Viet Cong positions in support of Operation Dart Board.
Other pilots on the mission were Capt. Bernard A. Conway, flight leader, and Lt. Col. Allen commander of the 510th TFS.
