Aviano Unveils First Locally Painted F-16

The 31st Maintenance Squadron unveiled Aviano's first locally-painted F-16 during a ribbon cutting of the new Corrosion Control Facility Oct. 19 located next to the static displays on Area F.

Squeaky Clean Jet

U.S. Air Force crew chiefs from the 31st Maintenance Squadron washed an F-16 Fighting Falcon, March 17, 2015, at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Crew chiefs are responsible for washing Aviano's F-16s to help protect the aircraft from corrosion.Washing an aircraft takes approximately 4 to 6 hours for a minimum of three crew chiefs.

With a new state-of-the-art Corrosion Control Facility on Aviano, aircrafts are now serviced in-house for a quarter of the cost.

F-16s Head to Estonia for Training

Airmen and aircraft assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing departed Aviano Air Base, Italy, March 20, 2015 to participate in bilateral training with the Estonian air force and simultaneous but unrelated training with the Finnish and Swedish air forces in their airspace.

 Brig. Gen. Barre Seguin took command of the 31st Fighter Wing from Brig. Gen. Jon Norman during a change of command ceremony here, June 9.

Reunion 2014 - Las Vegas

The 510th Association will be hosting a mini 2014 reunion in Las Vegas Nevada in conjunction with the 510th Fighter Squadron participating in Red Flag.  The reunion detail and schedule are being finalized and the date is July 12th.  Continue reading for more information, an online registration form and payment system can be used to complete the registration process.

Airmen from the Royal Moroccan air force and the U.S. Air Force united at Ben Guerir Air Base, Morocco, April 15, for Majestic Eagle 2013, a bi-lateral training exercise, which will continue through April 26, 2013.

A Buzzard's Final Flight - Pone

Lt. Col. Adrian Pone's Final Flight with the 510th Fighter Squadron ends in a traditional wet-down (water salute) by friends and family members.  This "Fini Flight" marks the end of Pone's time with the Buzzards.  Rule!
